Arpita Mukherjee
President | Director Operations

She has been working as a women specialist in rural India. Earlier she is a certified mental health counsellor with an affiliation of International Psychoanalytical Association, London. Earlier she has worked with women led rural clusters. She is also heading the community led cultural tourism in KSCH. Since 2017, she has been working in Sundarban areas to support local SHGs. In the same context, she has been working to promote and protect the local culture. She has worked in social base-line study, social impact assessment related projects.

Gunjan Karmakar
Secretary | Director Livelihood

Gunjan Karmakar is a Computer Science Postgraduate as well as Freelance Professional Photographer. He has completed his Postgraduation in Computer Science Engineering from RCCIIT. After completion he has worked as a Teaching Assistant in RCCIIT for two years. Later on, he has worked as a Software Developer in different IT companies for more than three years. From last five years, he is working in KSCH as a Treasurer and also managing all operations of KSCH. Now he is managing outstation projects as well.

Swastika Mukherjee
Director | Women Empowerment
Swastika Mukherjee is an actor in Indian Cinema, with a career spanning over two decades. She started with television having done 4 mega soap operas and over 47 telefilms with all the leading channels. With a body of work over 95 feature films she continues as a performer in various languages, namely, Bangla, Hindi, Marathi, English. Most of her work is archived in all major OTT platforms, namely Netflix, Amazon prime, Hotstar, Zee5, Hoichoi. She has won various accolades for her craft, two Filmfare awards, two Critics Choice
Read moreawards & her films have been travelling extensively in all major festivals of the world, the recent being New York Indian Film Festival where her short film Tasher Ghawr won the best short. Her fondness for music has got her to have a Rabindra Sangeet album with 6 songs and she is a listed artist with Spotify. Alongside her flourishing career, Swastika is a pet lover. She believes in the mantra of Adopt, do not shop. Being a dog mother herself, to a rescued indie, she works with various NGOs pan India, like FunandFur, Help and Heal Animal Trust to name a few, that rescues abandoned pets and street animals and gives them a home. She has been an active supporter of Durbar Mahila Samanwaya committee that works with the sex workers of West Bengal to provide them with a better livelihood. She has been an active volunteer providing relief for the Amphan hit areas in Bengal. She has also done extensive volunteering pan India during the second wave of Covid 19. Known for her interest in art and culture, she has been a part of Literary Festivals as a panellist, she was also a speaker for We the Women, a platform created by Barkha Dutt. She was also the speaker of She The People, headed by author Kiran Manral.

  • She has been hosting The Telegraph She Awards for the last 5 years.
  • She has also been a T2 columnist for 6 years writing about films and social causes.
  • She also headed the column of Agony Aunt which dealt with social and sexual problems of readers.
She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, under the guidance of Guru Thankumani Kutty for 10 years. A holder of a diploma for modern contemporary dance at Ananda Shankar Center for Performing Arts. Her love for theatre and the craft of acting has got her to participate in various shows besides acting in movie. She has been a part of Cine theatre with Zee. She encourages women and men to voice their opinion and stands by the moto that one should extend a helping hand towards those who need it in all circumstances. .

Mir is one of the most popular FM Radio Jockeys in India. His nationwide radio campaigns for Radio Mirchi have not just won hearts all over India but also grabbed a number of prestigious advertising awards for the brand including Excellence in Radio Awards, The Golden Mike & The New York Radio Festival Awards. Mir raised the bar of Bengali news reading irreversibly, with the first private News program on Doordarshan Bangla, Khas Khabar, which started airing in 1998.
Meanwhile, Mir continued to act as an impresario for corporate shows & events of the nation’s top business houses within & outside Bengal. Performing with Bollywood & Tollywood artists, both at stage shows as well as on screen has been an integral part of his profession, over the years. With close to 4000 stage events compered till date, he is Kolkata’s true blue trilingual host who can entertain in many forms. Although unbound by the written word himself, Mir has conceptualized and written many a script for both the print & electronic media commercials & programmes, many of which have again received wide spread acclaim & awards. Mir is also the lead vocalist of a band called Bandage.
When he’s not busy anchoring, he takes classes on Radio & TV presentation skills for aspiring youngsters, many of whom have gone on to become news anchors, radio jockeys & comperes. Mir has been presenting his own brand of comedy on a show called MIRAKKEL on Zee Bangla for the last 15 years. It has completed 10 seasons. Mir is also one of the directors of FOODKA, a food vlog on YouTube.

Souvik Bandyopadhyay

After spending 20 years as a senior professional in Industry, Diplomatic Missions, Chambers of Commerce, Souvik Banerjee followed his dream of becoming a social entrepreneur and is currently a member of KSCH's Governing Council as a Director. Prior to this he was the Director General & CEO of the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kolkata. He has a Masters' in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and has also been an International Visitors' Leadership Programme (IVLP) Fellow of the US Dept of State.

Sunando Banerjee

Sunando Banerjee is an entrepreneur, business consultant, motivational speaker and a regular panelist at India Retail Forum and Unesco. He is an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer from the University of Bombay, an alumnus of IIMC and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At present Sunando is the COO of Anonymous Digital Marketing Private Limited, a marketing and digital transformation company. He is also the founder Director of two restaurant chains, Hanglaatherium and EtSetMix. His latest venture “Bongmade” is a platform for showcasing the various art and crafts of Bengal, boosting the small-scale industries and promoting local/ regional artisans and craftsmen of Bengal. He is also a partner at HungryBaaz that produces Bengal’s one of the most successful travel-food vlogs, "Foodka."

Indrajit Lahiri

Indrajit Lahiri is a Youtuber and foodblogger. He has his published book on culinary experience and is a Litfest Panelist and Joshtalks speaker. Professionally, he's an IT entrepreneur with his own IT project management firm. Indrajit Lahiri started his journey of foodblogging with www.moha-mushkil.com, which has now more than 300 blogpost and is the co-founder of Foodka YT webseries on YouTube. Now he is taking care of multiple projects in various districts of West Bengal. Indrajit drives the entrepreneurship development initiatives.

Sundip Biswas
Director- International Relations
Sundip is a corporate lawyer and gastronomy sector entrepreneur based in Berlin, Germany. He is an alumnus of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and the London School of Economics & Political Science. Sundip became associated with KSCH during the height of the deadly second wave of the Covid- 19 pandemic in India in April- June 2021. He supported KSCH in its relief efforts both in Kolkata and surrounding areas and the Sundarbans during this period in various ways from

Dr. Debashis Ganguly

Atanu Basu
Director | Implementation

Atanu Basu is a professional turned social entrepreneur who left his job and joined Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage. He is also one of the founder members of KSCH. To restore the bio diversity of Sundarbans he started the project The Community Forest to develop The Mangrove Community Forest Movement. Now he is running a team of 3,560 women to implement the project with his own community people. Atanu specializes in capacity building projects, survey and studies in diverse sectors. 

Sourav Mukherjee

Mr. Sourav Mukherhjee is a professional turned social entrepreneur, He studied Information Technology from Jadavpur University, Later on, he worked as a Software Engineer in a US based mutinational company for more than 7 years and left the job to launch Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage to promote sustainable development. He is also the board member of PRCI, Kolkata chapter. He has empowered more than sixty thousand women and also, he has established more than 400 farmers clubs in Eastern India. He is also working as professional CSR consultant.

Abhisek Paul
Director | Arts

He is the fine arts graduate from internationally acclaimed Academy of Fine Arts. He has already participated more than hundreds of international exhibition. His art form is highly appreciated by the Royal Govt. of Bhutan. Now his responsibility is to provide the skill up-gradation training to the rural artisans. Chitropot 2020 had been managed and curate by him only. He is also initiating with international artistic collaboration. All creative and Information Education Communication tools are being developed by him.

Monika Parashari Lahiri

Monika Parashari Lahiri is the Regional Manager of Millennium Post newspaper which is a National English  Daily newspaper with huge circulation and a very strong digital presence with years of experience in Relationship Management for Corporates. She is also a Strategic consultant for online and off line events. Apart from her regular job she is associated with Confederanation of Indian Industry - Indian Woman Network (CII IWN ), Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Chirantan Purakayastha

He has more than 20 years of corporate experience in various multinational companies in Kolkata. His prime expertise is to provide marketing consulting. He is responsible for the product marketing for our self help groups which includes providing financial management training to the underprivileged beneficiaries and managing the entire online trade for our beneficiaries. Chirantan is also looking after the responsible tourism including home stay making and mobilization of community led development.

Aantorik Ganguly
International Project Head

He is presently attending Middlebury College as an Economics major, where he holds the college scholar distinction. He works to create an impact outside the classroom. As a member of Middlebury Consulting Group, he provides strategic consulting where he is responsible for bringing a new product to the US Market. In addition, He is the Chief Liaison for the Finance Committee of the Student Government Association, in which he manages the $1.8 million yearly budget allocated for all student life and activities in US.

Recognition

Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage received the Chanakya Award for NGO of the year 2020 by PRCI (Public Relations Council of India). The Foundation was conferred this honour at the PRCI Annual Awards Ceremony 2020, which was distributed during the PRCI 14th Global Communication Conclave 2020. This year’s theme for the conclave was ‘PR Beyond 20:20’.
